These are exactly the kinds of problems ReUp aims…

The Transparent Collective alum on reimagining solar and empowering low-income communities.

By Jessen O’Brien

Here’s a piece of good news: We may have reached a turning point in the fight against climate change.

“They say the next decade is going to be the decade of clean energy,” says Steph Speirs, the co-founder and CEO of community solar company Solstice and a Transparent Collective alum. “There’s a sense of urgency that has only been precipitated by the pandemic exposing how unequal our society is. …

On March 25, Transparent Collective hosted a virtual Ask Me Anything (AMA) session with Ali Rosenthal, founder and managing partner of Leadout Capital, an early-stage venture capital fund that invests in non-traditional teams in high potential markets.

Transparent Collective hosts these sessions to increase exposure and access to Silicon Valley for underrepresented founders. The mission of TC is to prepare underrepresented founders for fundraising, to connect investors to high-caliber entrepreneurs, and to build an ecosystem where underrepresented entrepreneurs flourish.

We are dedicated to increasing exposure and access to Silicon Valley for underrepresented founders, and we love hosting events that pull back the curtain on how the entire process works.

  • Contributing to the development of an ecosystem where all entrepreneurs can flourish.

We’ve been operating for several years and over that time, we’ve worked with over 50 startups who have collectively secured north of $40 million in seed funding. In…

For those who were not accepted into this program, or who are looking to apply to future programs, we want to be transparent with the way we rate and score applications.
